A Musical Comedy About Recovery
Synopsis
With equal parts humor and heartbreak, Breaking Silence is primarily a comedy that touches on a variety of points. Notably, what it truly means to be human and love yourself.
It's a rigorously honest look into the miraculous path of recovery.

Madison is reluctantly put in a treatment center by her parents after a near deathly drug overdose. Her quest is accompanied by the ephemeral figure of her childhood self, her antagonistic inner child, a specter of repressed memories and emotions that trigger her most deeply rooted traumas. She begins to find solace within the community and forms a toxic romance that’s strictly forbidden.

The colorful cast of characters all contribute to Madison’s growth in recovering the truth of who she was before she got lost. When Madison has everything stripped away, she’s forced to confront the demons of her past and their underlying causes. All is revealed so that Madison can make way for a better future. However, her newfound resolve is then put to the ultimate test when an unexpected tragedy strikes.

Tone
While the subject matter is usually considered to be somber, the levity here shines through.
We take trauma and we honor it.
Come revel in this fun and deeply moving musical that will take you on a rollercoaster ride. Experiencing tears of joy and pain on this dynamic adventure.
Setting
Our story begins in the great New York City at a painfully cool bar. A drunken night where they glide down the magical historic streets and arrive at the after party.
We spend most of the time at a gorgeous Malibu estate right on the coast. The house is one to be desired, it's their fancy bubble, that they now call home.
Flashbacks spanning decades and state lines transport us throughout.
